# Add a Task

Add new tasks at any time into the rulemaking workflow by selecting the '+' icon to the right of the workflow task. In the example below, the blue plus sign appears to the right of the Program Review status, and ‘Add a task after’ is selected. 

- Enter the task name in the **Name** field
- Adjust the start date by selecting the ![Calendar Icon](https://support.esper.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Calendar%20Icon.png?width=14&name=Calendar%20Icon.png) in the **Start Date** field.
- Adjust the due date by selecting the ![Calendar Icon](https://support.esper.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Calendar%20Icon.png?width=14&name=Calendar%20Icon.png) in the **Due Date** field.

To add a task that happens at the same time, select 'Add a task in parallel.'
